ARTIST STATEMENT
The disruption of the ordinary and the encouragement of absurdity is where Rebecca lays, tucked in with the blanket of light hearted humour on her bed of work. Through performance, sculpture, text work and printmaking, Rebecca Rae thrives on audience interaction with the push of absurdity within life. Recycling routines, creating something with no purpose other than to entertain, she draws inspiration from the everyday and uses this familiarity to create an uncanniness within her practice in a way that is often puzzling and comedic.
